Faith Formation Registration Now Open for 2025–2026

Registration for Faith Formation classes for the 2025–2026 school year is now open. Families may register in person at the Faith Formation Office from Monday through Thursday, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Please bring the following documents at the time of registration, depending on your child's sacramental needs:

For First Penance and/or First Communion:
•  A copy of your child's Certificate of Baptism

For Confirmation:
•  A copy of your child's Certificate of Baptism
•  A copy of your child's Certificate of First Communion

We look forward to walking with your family on this journey of faith and formation.

Order of Christian Initiation for Adults

Are you—or someone you know—seeking to deepen your relationship with Christ and the Church?

The OCIA process is designed for:

• Those who have never been baptized and wish to enter the Catholic Church
• Individuals baptized in another Christian tradition who are interested in becoming Catholic
• Baptized Catholics who have not yet received the Sacraments of Confirmation and/or Eucharist

We invite you to join our small group setting where participants explore the teachings, traditions, and lived experience of the Catholic faith. These sessions serve as preparation to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist, which are typically celebrated during the Easter season. To register for the upcoming fall semester or to learn more, please contact Sr. Maria Sanchez at the Faith Formation Office during office hours.

Orden de Iniciación Cristiana para Adultos

¿Eres tú—o conoces a alguien—que desea profundizar su relación con Cristo y con la Iglesia?

El programa de RICA está diseñado para:

• Personas no bautizadas que desean integrarse a la Iglesia Católica 
• Aquellos bautizados en otra tradición cristiana interesados en convertirse al catolicismo
• Católicos bautizados que aún no han recibido los Sacramentos de la Confirmación y/o la Eucaristía.

Te invitamos a participar en un grupo pequeño y acogedor, donde podrás conocer más sobre las enseñanzas, tradiciones y vivencias de la fe católica. Estas sesiones preparan a los participantes para recibir los Sacramentos del Bautismo, Confirmación y Eucaristía, los cuales se celebran generalmente durante el tiempo de Pascua. Para inscribirte en el semestre de otoño o recibir más información, comunícate con la Hermana María Sánchez durante el horario de oficina.

Vacation Bible School Volunteers Needed

If you'd like to volunteer for our Summer Vacation Bible School in Edcouch and La Villa, please contact Sr. Maria Sanchez at (956-255-4031). High school students are encouraged to help as teacher's assistants.

Vacation Bible School

Parents are invited to register their children (grades K-5) at the Faith Formation Office for our Summer Vacation Bible School. This dynamic week-long program provides a meaningful opportunity for children to deepen their faith through engaging Bible lessons, interactive activities, and fun-filled experiences. We encourage families to take part in this enriching and faithfilled event. Vacation Bible School will be held July 21–25 at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Hours for VBS are 8:30am—12pm.

Escuela Bíblica de Vacaciones

"Se invita a los padres a inscribir a sus hijos (grados K-5) en la Oficina de Formación en la Fe para nuestra Escuela Bíblica de Vacaciones de verano. Este dinámico programa de una semana ofrece una valiosa oportunidad para que los niños profundicen en su fe a través de lecciones bíblicas interactivas, actividades enriquecedoras y experiencias llenas de diversión. Animamos a las familias a participar en este evento significativo y lleno de fe. La Escuela Bíblica de Vacaciones se llevará a cabo del 21 al 25 de julio en Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Las horas de la EBV son de 8:30am a 12pm.

Summer Youth Group Activities

All middle school and high school youth are invited to take part in our summer activities. Please note the following important information:

• Permission Slips: A signed permission slip from a parent or guardian is required to participate in any off-campus event. Forms can be picked up from one of the youth sponsors or at the parish office.
• Transportation: For activities held outside of Edcouch or La Villa, transportation will be provided.
• Arrival Times: Participants should arrive at the parish hall in either Edcouch or La Villa at the designated times for each event—unless told otherwise in advance. 
• Fees: There are no fees for the events except for the trip to South Padre Island Water Park. Financial assistance is available for this event.

JUNE

Wednesday, June 25th from 6pm to 8pm
Pins-N-Cues Bowling Alley in Weslaco—Transportation will be provided from St. Theresa Church parking lot.

JULY

Wednesday, July 2nd from 6pm—9pm
Swimming at La Villa Public Pool—No Fee—Parents need to drop off and pick up their child.

Wednesday, July 9th from 6pm to 8:30pm
Cookout and Kickball Game at La Villa City Park—No Fee—Parent's need to drop-off and pick-up their child at the City Park.

Wednesday, July 16th from 6pm—8pm
Christ and Coffee at St. Theresa Parish Hall (Bring your own Bible)

Wednesday, July 26th from 9:30am to 8pm
South Padre Island Beach Water Park—Fee of $30—Transportation will be provided from the Church Parking Lot (Meals, Snacks and Drinks will be provided)

Wednesday, July 30th from 6pm—8pm
Movies at Cinemark in Weslaco—No Fee—Parents need to drop-off and pick-up their child.

PROTECTING GOD'S PEOPLE

As God's people, we are called to celebrate, promote, and when necessary to defend the life and dignity of every person. We must treat everyone with respect, and do what we can to protect others from harm. Suspected misconduct with minors by lay church personnel should be reported to the pastor of the parish, the principal of the school, or the head of the Catholic institution involved. Suspected misconduct with minors by a priest, deacon, or religious should be reported directly to the Bishop or Vicar General (P. O. Box 2279, Brownsville, TX 78522-2279; 956-542-2501). A form for a Confidential Notice of Concern, may be used, and obtained on request from the local pastor, school principal, institution head, or Diocese, or it may be downloaded from the Brownsville Diocese website (www.cdob.org) Please be aware that it is a state law that anyone who suspects abuse or neglect of a minor must report it to local law enforcement officials or to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services at 1-800-252-5400. Our faith assures us that we will not be overcome by evil but will overcome evil with good (cf. Rm 12:21).

Youth Group Meetings

All Middle School and High School Youth from La Villa and Edcouch are invited to attend our Youth Group Meetings on Wednesday's from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at the parish hall in Edcouch. Join us for a night of fun, faith sharing and snacks.
